It's been a long time since i blogged. Life since my teacher training may have got somewhat busy. But those are stories in themselves which I am happy to share but right now my focus for writing is to bring light to my travels. Without sounding cliche, but a journey of exploration. Not only into myself but for a learning adventure. So here I write to you from India. I arrived in the early hours of Saturday morning after a long journey in. But excitement has kept me a alert and tuned into my surroundings, no time to doze or miss a second. My journey here is one of sight seeing, relaxation, volunteering and of learning more as I explore yoga in its roots. Why I chose what to do I will continue to explain in hopefully many more blogs to come, but right now I share with you that I'm warm, I'm healthy and I'm ready to go. Am I relaxed, I'm getting there. People will look and my itinerary and more than likely wonder how I will have chance to relax, but for me, the rest will come when I just take a moment or two to just sit back, observe and smile to myself that I'm finally here. For years I've talked about India, and it's been hard to find the time, resources and funds to bring me here. But my life back home is changing as I get older and start to make plans for my future, I had to be sure India was in them. I'm currently with a group of people all under 30 and although I am taking the smallest amount of time travelling in India, doesn't mean I want it any less. It means I'm doing the best I can, and I'll do it the best way I can do. Taking in every moment and never taking for granted the fact I can be here. To have a family and fiancé that supports me as I leave for a month as they know learning is what makes me happiest (no matter how hard missing him can be). To have a job and colleagues that give me the time to take long periods of time off, and mostly that I have afford the funds that give me the means to travel the world. This is something I will never take for granted, something that I know some people will only dream. I am lucky i have the funds to do this the best I can, although a strain, I will eat well, sleep well (hopefully) and take advantage of all India has to offer. First I am travelling around the south, to enjoy the sun, sand and culture. Then I move on to the north to spend two weeks on my yoga practice, learning traditional practices and from new teachers. And lastly I move on to help a friend who is working in a foster home for disabled children. First stop beach, so backpack on, skin covered and off I go :-)
